A BJP leader who was present in the meeting told Amar Ujala that the party believes that in the next Lok Sabha it can compete not with the Congress but with the Aam Aadmi Party. The major reason for this is that this time the Congress will not have a charismatic and magnetic face like Sheila Dixit, which it had benefited from during the 2019 elections.
Party leaders believe that a large number of Muslim voters have defected from the Aam Aadmi Party to the Congress during the municipal elections. The Congress hopes to make a comeback in Delhi with the help of its core vote bank, but BJP leaders believe that when it comes to the question of which candidate or party is capable of defeating the BJP, Muslim voters will May return to Aam Aadmi Party.
